Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR-e router
China Mobile and China Unicom will expand the deployment of Alcatel-Lucent 7950 XRS IP Core Router.

China Unicom will expand the deployment of Alcatel-Lucent 7950 XRS IP Core Router within the 14 metro network nodes nine Chinese cities to meet growth in Internet data traffic. China Unicom will be able to expand the China Broadband Plan that aims to provide broadband to all urban and rural areas by 2020 with a minimum of 50 Mbps in urban areas and 12 Mbps in rural areas.

Deployment of core router, which will be completed toward the end of 2016, in 9 nine cities within Jiangsu, Shandong, Jiangxi, Qinghai and Inner Mongolia provinces, will provide a intelligent network to ensure scalability and capacity to meet future traffic demands of more than 400 million fixed and mobile broadband subscribers.

Alcatel-Lucent said the possibility to evolve to 400G interfaces in its metro backbone network using the 7950 XRS will allow China Unicom and China Mobile to meet the upcoming customer data demand and pave the way for the future expansion of cloud-services while optimizing costs.

China Mobile will deploy 7950 XRS IP Core Router in its CMNET, its IP backbone network, to meet the growing data demand of its 820 million subscribers.
