China Unicom revenue dips 0.7% to RMB 198.532 billion

China Unicom reported service revenue of RMB 198.532 billion (–0.7 percent), EBITDA of RMB 73.145 billion (+10.4 percent) and profit of RMB 9.823 billion (+11.9 percent) in the first three quarters of 2019.

China Unicom’s mobile service revenue dropped 6.1 percent to RMB 117.733 million in the first three quarters of 2019. Impact of Speed Upgrade and Tariff Reduction policy, market saturation, competition and diminishing 4G data bonus were negatively impacted the revenue from mobile services.

Mobile billing subscriber ARPU was RMB 40.6. China Unicom gradually leveraged the in-depth coverage and wide coverage in rural area of the LTE 900MHz network, and stepped up the effort in Internet-oriented transformation on products, channels and marketing.

China Unicom added 9.69 million mobile billing subscribers, reaching a total of 325 million, in the first three quarters of 2019.

China Unicom added 31.22 million 4G subscribers, reaching a total of 251 million, during the first three months.

It built new 2I2H and 2B2H broadband marketing models to enhance marketing capabilities. China Unicom added 3.57 million fixed-line broadband subscribers, reaching a total of 84.45 million.

China Unicom’s fixed-line broadband access revenue reached RMB 30.959 billion. Revenue from industry Internet business amounted to RMB 24,291 million, up by 40.8 percent year-on-year.

China Unicom’s fixedline service revenue rose 7.7 percent to RMB 78.863 billion during the first three quarters of 2019.
