Ericsson expands managed services deal with Telefonica in Brazil

 

Telefonica Brazil has selected Ericsson to
provide managed services for field maintenance in Sao Paulo, the largest city
in Brazil.

 

Ericsson will provide a range of field operations services, supervising
and maintaining Telefonica’s fixed network within the following areas in Sao
Paulo city: Campo Limpo, Campo Belo, Jabaquara, Consolaçao and Ipiranga. The
managed services will be provided in a multi-vendor environment.

 

Broadening our managed services partnership
further with Telefónica is an important step to Ericsson. This contract also
contributes to Ericsson’s leadership in managed services in Latin America and
globally,” said Sergio Quiroga, head, Ericsson in Latin America and Caribeean,

 

Telefonica Brazil has already been working
with Ericsson’s methods and tools for managed services. This new contract is an
expansion of Ericsson existing managed services execution with them. In 2008,
Ericsson and Telefonica Brazil entered into an agreement for field maintenance
of the operator’s fiber network in Sao Paulo state.

operating and managing day-to-day operations of a customer’s network, including
end-user services and business-support systems, to hosting service-layer
solutions and providing network coverage and capacity on demand.
