RCom posts Rs 19,677 crore revenue for FY12

Telecom Lead India: Reliance Communications has posted revenue
of Rs 5,010 crore for the fourth-quarter FY12, down 33 percent to Rs from Rs
7,475 crore.

 

For the whole year, the company posted Rs. 19,677 crore
revenue for the year ended 31 March 2012, as compared to revenue of Rs 22,431
crore for the year ended 31 March 2011.

 

The net income from operations for the quarter and year
ended March 31, 2011, included a one-time adjustment of Rs 2,545 crore
consequent upon change of accounting treatment in respect of Indefeasible
Rights of Use, said a statement from the company.

 

For the fourth quarter, the company posted revenue of
7,215 crore, against Rs 9,750 crore a year earlier.

 

The company’s wireless segment fetched Rs 17, 696 crore
for the year ended 31 March 2012, versus Rs 17, 647 crore a year earlier. The
fourth-quarter revenue for wireless segment stood at Rs 4,505 crore, as
compared with Rs 4,453 crore a year earlier.

 

The company’s revenues from GEBU (Global Enterprise
Business Unit) were down 50 percent to Rs 2,440 crore, as compared to Rs 4,912
crore a year ealier.

 

The company has reported a 98 per cent jump in the fourth
quarter net profit at Rs 332 crore compared with Rs 168 crore in the year-ago
period.

 

For the whole year ended March 31, 2012, net profit stood
at Rs 928 crore, down 31 percent, as compared to Rs 1,345 crore for past year.

 

In the year ended March 31, 2012, RCom’s net income
increased to Rs 22,431 crore from Rs 19,677 crore in the same period last year.

 

For the Q4 2012, the company posted total expenditure of
Rs 4,648 crore, as compared to Rs 7,299 a year ago. On the other hand, for the
whole year, the company’s expenditure stood at Rs 17,879 crore, against Rs 20,
524 crore for earlier year.

 

Reliance Communications slashes 3G tariff

 

Recently, Reliance Communications announced new 3G rates.
The mobile major offers 1 GB 3G data for Rs 250 per month and 2 GB of 3G data
for Rs 450 per month.
