Reliance Communications’ revenue up 5% to Rs 5,301 crore in Q3 2012-13

Telecom Lead Asia: Reliance Communications has posted 5 percent increase in Q3 2012-13 revenue to Rs 5,301 crore.

India’s No.3 mobile phone carrier by customers reported a 44 percent drop in quarterly profit to Rs 105 crore as its heavy debt load continued to weigh on earnings. The mobile operator’s net profit in Q3 2011-12 was Rs 186 crore.

Q3 EBIDTA at Rs. 1,653 crore, with EBITDA margin of 31.2 percent amongst the highest in the industry.

Q3 wireless revenue increased 4.7 percent y-o-y on comparable basis. Q3 wireless EBITDA increased 15 percent y-o-y on comparable basis.

Reliance Communications has around 6.1 million 3G customers. The number of data customers is around 27.6 million in Q3. Total data usage per subscriber is 280 MB.

Reliance Communications said its RPM stood at a healthy 44 paisa.

Global Enterprise (GEBU) revenue increased to 4.4 percent Rs 2,454 crore from Rs 2,352 crore. Q3 EBIDTA at Rs 567 crore, down by 0.4 percent from Rs. 569 crore in Q3 previous year.

Recently, CLSA said several catalysts could help Reliance Communications to unlock value, including an inevitable tower/infrastructure-sharing deal with Reliance Industries for its 4G rollout.

“Reliance Industries is the only pan-India 4G spectrum owner. Service rollout is reported to be in 2013 and its best option remains to lease towers from Reliance Infratel,” said CLSA in a report.
