SingTel unveils video chatting forum on TokBox platform

TokBox, a web-based video communications platform,
announced that SingTel’s Media Share, a video chat and file sharing service is
built on TokBox’s proprietary technology.

Media Share is a feature of SingTel’s exPress Portal
service for fibre broadband. Amdocs was the prime systems integrator for the
project.

Media Share lets SingTel’s customers for video chat while
sharing YouTube videos, Flickr photos and Slideshare presentations. Up to 20
friends can simultaneously view and engage in conversation without requiring
any download — they just need a computer and a webcam.

The SingTel Media Share enables people to come together,
share, enjoy web content and chat at the same time.

“As the first major service provider to embrace web-based
video chat, SingTel’s launch of Media Share signals video communications’ entry
into the mainstream. SingTel was very particular in its selection of a carrier
grade solution, and we are delighted to help bring this breakthrough service to
Singaporeans and the world,” said Ian Small, CEO, TokBox.

The TokBox Video Platform is the only solution enabling
anyone to add live video-based interaction into any web property.

With an advanced API and plug-n-play apps for web and
mobile, more than 13,000 organizations, developers and website owners have used
TokBox to harness the power of real-time communications to drive user
engagement within their site or service.

The project adds to the innovative services SingTel
offers consumers. The SingTel portal was launched recently on the Amdocs Personalized
Portal software to offer subscribers a personalized, centralized location for
all their online content and interactions.
