Sprint unveils Mobility-as-a-Service

Sprint has unveiled Mobility-as-a-Service, a new streamlined way for businesses to put the power of mobile technology in the hands of employees.

Mobility-as-a-Service by Sprint takes the hassle out of equipping a workforce with wireless devices, Sprint said.

The service is offered for a cost as low as $20 per month per employee. Sprint delivers the devices, provides basic configuration and includes additional dedicated customer support.

With many enterprises exploring Bring Your Own Device alternatives MaaS brings back simplicity and returns control of employees’ wireless usage back to the business.

Sprint now is the first national U.S. wireless carrier to deliver a standard offer, available to any business with 15 or more lines of service.

“Sprint’s Mobility-as-a-Service delivers simplicity for businesses that rely on mobile technology to compete and succeed,” said Karen Freitag, president, Enterprise Solutions at Sprint. “Business owners can focus on running and growing their business, and count on Sprint to provide and manage the wireless devices and service that makes their employees more productive.”

The new all-in approach eliminates up-front charges associated with acquiring devices, and supplies more value-added services than the typical mobility bundle.

“We listened to the challenges our business customers described and then developed Mobility-as-a-Service specifically so it would reduce the cost and time required to set up and maintain mobile devices,” said Karen Freitag, president, Enterprise Solutions at Sprint.

“CIOs and their teams now will be able to focus more on their core business and less on the hassles of keeping their work force equipped with the latest mobile devices,” Freitag added.

Pooled data options are available at the 100MB, 1GB, 2GB and 5GB levels with prices varying from $20 to $70 per month, depending on the tier of the device the customer selects. An unlimited data option is also available for smartphones and premium devices for $65 to $75 per month.

Tablet and basic phone plans start at $20 per month for 100MB of data. Customers can also access reports to monitor their data usage. Sprint will soon add cloud storage and Anti-Virus capabilities to the MaaS offer.

In addition, businesses purchasing wireless through MaaS will receive a dedicated care team to provide 24/7/365 white-glove technical support. Sprint will also assist with device configuration and preloading of business applications. On-site implementation support will be provided on orders of 25 devices or more. Each business can name a number of VIP subscribers such as business owners or C-level executives to receive an additional level of customer service.
