Tata Teleservices launches service provider agnostic MDM in India

Prateek Pashine, president - Enterprise Business, TTL,In view of the growing mobility adoption and the security challenges it brings to organizations, Tata Teleservices (TTL) has launched Mobile Device Management (MDM) in Indian market.

This product addresses concerns that CIOs across the country have voiced with regard to data security over mobile devices, workforce productivity and most importantly, Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), TTL  said in a statement.

The solution is service provider agnostic and ensures a secure access to official data and emails over mobile devices, easy data recovery in case of theft/ lost device scenarios, management of tablets and smart phone devices across multiple Operating Systems (OS).

The MDM service will be delivered on a monthly rental model remotely. Once devices are on-boarded, the remote MDM administrator can view diagnostics and remotely manage and monitor the mobile ecosystem through a Central Management Console.

Talking about the mobility challenges faced by today’s organizations, Prateek Pashine, president – Enterprise Business, TTL, said, “Most organizations have made sizeable investments in terms of securing access to company information through laptops and PCs and are exploring ways to secure data and applications on the mobile phones and tablets.”

Tata Docomo’s MDM addresses these concerns as it works across handsets, operating systems and service providers, Pashine added. The solution is especially well-suited to the needs of industries which employ a large mobile workforce or permit employees to access company information over their mobile devices.

Statistics shows that the demand for MDM is on the rise. Radical Group recently predicted that worldwide revenue for the EMM market will total $1,760 million by year-end 2016.This figure is expected to grow to over $4.5 billion by year-end 2020, growing at an annual growth rate of 27 percent in the next four years.

Globally, sectors like Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI), Manufacturing, FMCG, Retail, Government, Pharmaceuticals, Logistics, ecommerce and Market Research have greatly benefited from the deployment of MDM solutions.
