Telecom Argentina revenue up 26% in 2011

By Telecom Lead Team: Telecom Argentina has posted net
revenues P$18,525 million in 2011, up 26 percent against P$14,679 million in
2010.

 

Telecom Argentina reported net income of
P$2,422 million for the annual period ended December 31, 2011, up 33
percent against the same period last year, due to a higher operating profit and
positive financial results.

 

Its mobile business in Argentina increased by
31 percent at P$13,184 million in 2011 against P$10,039 million FY10. Internet
revenue grew 28 percent and Data revenue grew 23 percent in 2011

 

Operating Profit increased by 26 percent to P$4,040
million in 2011.

 

As of December 31, 2011, personal reached 18.2
million subscribers in Argentina, up by 11 percent.

 

The company noted that the overall subscriber base mix
continued to improve with 32 percent in the postpaid modality (including “Cuentas claras” plans and 3G modems) and 68
percent in prepaid.

 

Mobile value added services in Argentina increased
by 55 percent in 2011 and Service Revenues increased by 48 percent.

 

Total revenues from voice services reached P$3,169
million in FY11, up by 8 percent. The company added that results of voice
business continued to be affected by frozen tariffs of regulated services
determined by the Argentine Government in 2002.

 

Mobile ARPU reached P$51 per month in FY11, grew by
16percent. ADSL ARPU increased to P$87 per month in FY11, increased by
14percent.

 

Capex grew by 23 percent to P$2,423 million against
P$1974 million in 2010.

 

Recently, Telefonica de Argentina selected Comptel Convergent Mediation to replace
its existing mediation platform.
