Telefonica and Geotab power Europcar’s Connected Cars program

Europcar Mobility Group is strengthening its alliance with Telefonica and Geotab for rolling out its Connected Cars program.
TelefonicaEuropcar Mobility Group already had 44,000 connected cars in 2019 and aims to connect its entire fleet by 2023.

Geotab and Telefonica will provide access to data from the engine, driving behavior and location of GPS, including information about: distances, mileage, speed, acceleration, fuel level , accident detection, etc.

This data will be processed to help improve the customer experience and optimize business applications and internal processes, such as fleet inventory management, vehicle delivery and collection, its maintenance and return among other processes.

More than 20 million connected devices are part of the IoT connectivity of the Telefonica Kite Platform. Telefonica Tech unit offers managed connectivity services around the world with the best levels of service backed by global support.

“We are satisfied to strengthen our partnership with Europcar Mobility Group, supporting them in their digital transformation process with our IoT and Big Data solutions,” said Gonzalo Martin-Villa, global director of IoT and Big Data at Telefonica Tech.
