Telenor Hungary taps OSS vendor Comptel for Provisioning and Activation solution

Comptel Corporation, the dynamic Operations
Support System (OSS) software vendor, announced that its Provisioning and
Activation has been selected by Telenor Hungary, a subsidiary of the
international Telenor Group, to shorten time-to-market.

Comptel Provisioning and Activation is a
component of Comptel Fulfillment, a fully integrated suite of products that
also encompasses order management, catalog, and service and resource inventory
capabilities.

“The deal with Telenor Hungary will
give us a unique opportunity to support a leading edge OSS transformation,
helping the operator reduce the complexity of its wider OSS/BSS landscape and
improve the processes related to efficiency optimisation. Provisioning is one
of our core competences-we have a solid track record of delivering Comptel
Provisioning and Activation to over 130 operators across the world,” said
Mauro Carobene, senior vice president, Europe West, Comptel.

Comptel Provisioning and Activation enables
operators to fully automate the process of handling subscriber orders to
activating services in the network all the way up to the start of billing. The
solution helps operators control costs, reduce manual errors and deliver
services to subscribers without delay, thus increasing customer satisfaction
and reducing churn.

Telenor Hungary decided to replace its existing provider’s system with Comptel Provisioning
and Activation because they needed a competitive, future-proof,
easy-to-configure solution that also provides value for money.

“To serve our customers better, we are
in the process of updating both our Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
system and our GSM/UMTS/LTE network. We needed a flexible provisioning solution
that can cope with the transformation that we are going through,” said Jozsef
Huszlicska, chief technical officer, Telenor Hungary.

Comptel Provisioning and Activation offered
the integration flexibility Telenor  required
to support its move to an LTE-ready network. The solution achieved an
attractive position in ranking among several other suppliers participating in
the evaluation process.

“Comptel’s provisioning solution was
technically the strongest candidate, and it has a very good reputation. We are
also confident that the solution will be able to support future network
extensions, as well,” Huszlicska added.

Recently, Comptel unveiled its
strategy for Next Generation Fulfillment (NGF). Comptel is evolving its current
fulfillment solutions towards a real-time, high performance, catalog-driven and
fully integrated platform, designed to support the evolving service aggregation
needs of converged communications service providers (CSPs) and network
operators.

Comptel will be exhibiting and is a
participating vendor in the Enhanced Cloud Service Management Catalyst at
Management World Americas 2011, taking place 8-10 November in Orlando, Florida.
