Virgin Media revenue up 2.7% to £4.101 billion in 2012

Telecom Lead Europe: Virgin Media has reported 2.7 percent increase in 2012 revenue to £4.101 billion.

In Q4 2012, Virgin Media’s revenue increased 1.6 percent to £1.040 billion.

OCF increased 4 percent to £1.654 billion in 2012, while the growth in Q4 was 4.4 percent to £442 million.

Virgin Media’s operating income was £699 million for the year and £209 million for the fourth quarter of 2012.

FCF decreased 4.9 percent to £473 million in 2012. 1.4 percent was the dip in FCF revenue to £138 million for the quarter.

Virgin Media’s cable revenue increase 3 percent for the year and 3.8 percent in the quarter.

Net cable customer additions were 88,700 in the year and 42,700 in the quarter.

Virgin Media said its cable ARPU increased 2.1 percent to £48.87 in the quarter.

TiVo customers increased 896,900 in the year, 187,300 in the quarter.

Paying TV customers increased 210,000 in the year, 59,900 in the quarter.

Superfast broadband customers (30Mb and above) increased 1.5 million in the year and 419,400 in the quarter.

Neil Berkett, Chief Executive Officer of Virgin Media, said that 2012 was a year of record cable customer growth, where mainstream demand for superfast broadband and TiVo has led to lower churn and a strong increase in new subscribers.
