Vodafone FY12 financial result analysis based on region

Telecom Lead Europe: Vodafone has announced its financial
result for fiscal 2011-12. The growth is significant because several global
markets face financial troubles. Telecom Lead is presenting highlights of
regional performance of Vodafone.

 

EUROPE

 

For the Europe region, Vodafone has posted
revenue of 32.1 billion euros for the year 2012, representing 0.5 percent YoY
growth.

 

Service revenue for the Europe region stood at 29.9
billion euros, down 0.6 percent, in comparison with service revenue in FY11.
Voice revenue stood at 16.4 billion euros, messaging revenue stood at 4.3
billion euros, data revenue at 4.6 billion euros and fixed line revenue
recorded at 3.1 billion euros in 2012. EBITDA stood at 10.4 billion euros in
FY12, declined by 3.5 percent on YoY basis.

 

GERMANY

 

For its Germany operations, Vodafone posted 8.3 billion
euros of total revenue in FY12. Service revenue recorded at 7.6 billion euros
in FY12.

 

Vodafone Germany’s revenues from voice recorded at 3.1
billion euros, messaging stood at 906 million euros, data accounted to 1.5 billion
euros and fixed line revenue stood at 1.8 billion euros in FY12.

 

For its Italy operations, Vodafone posted 5.6
billion euros of total revenue in FY12. Service revenue recorded at 5.3 billion
euros in FY12.

 

ITALY

 

Vodafone Italy’s revenues from voice recorded at 2.9
billion euros, messaging stood at 851 million euros, Data services accounted to
713 million euros and fixed line revenue stood at 620 million euros in FY12.

 

For its Spain operations, Vodafone posted 4.7 billion
euros of total revenue in FY12. Service revenue recorded at 4.3 billion euros
in FY12.

 

SPAIN

 

Vodafone Spain’s revenues from voice recorded at 2.8
billion euros, messaging stood at 284 million euros, Data services accounted to
646 million euros and fixed line revenue stood at 342 million euros in FY12.

 

UK

For its UK operations, Vodafone posted 5.3 billion euros
of total revenue in FY12. Service revenue recorded at 4.9 billion euros in
FY12.

 

Vodafone UK’s revenues from voice recorded at 2.3 billion
euros, messaging stood at 1.2 billion euros, Data services accounted to 872
million euros and fixed line revenue stood at 45 million euros in FY12.

 

Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific

 

For African, Asia and Middle East region, the carrier’s
total revenue increased by 4.2 percent at 13.8 billion euro for the year ended
March 31, 2012.

 

Vodafone’s service revenue stood at 12.7 billion euros in
FY12, representing 3.7 percent YoY growth. Voice revenue stood at 9 billion
euros, messaging revenue stood at 931 million euros, data revenue at 1.5
billion euros and fixed line revenue recorded at 440 million euros in 2012.
EBITDA stood at 4.1 billion euros in FY12, up 2.9 percent on YoY basis.

 

Vodacom posted 5.6 billion euros of total revenue in
FY12. Service revenue recorded at 4.9 billion euros in FY12.

 

Vodacom-s revenues from voice recorded at 3.4 billion
euros, messaging stood at 289 million euros, data accounted to 690 million
euros and fixed line revenue stood at 225 million euros in FY12.

 

Vodafone India has posted 19.5 percent growth in service
revenues at Rs 321.8 billion in FY12, as compared to INR 269.4 billion in FY11.

 

For remaining Africa, Middle East operations, Vodafone
posted 3.9 billion euros of total revenue in FY12. Service revenue recorded at
3.6 billion euros in FY12. Revenues from voice recorded at 2.3 billion euros,
messaging stood at 435 million euros, Data services accounted to 483 million
euros and fixed line revenue stood at 225 million euros in FY12.

 

Vodafone India service revenue up 19.5% in FY12 to INR 32,180
crore

 

The company’s total revenue stood at Rs 325.7 billion in
2012, up 19.3 percent, as compared to Rs 273.02 billion in FY11.

 

Vodafone India Capex gone up from Rs 61.6 billion in
2010-11 to Rs 62.2 billion in 2011-12. The company has crossed milestone of 150
million customers, with 35.4 million data users at 81.5 percent Y-o-Y growth.

 

ARPU at Rs 180 in Q4 FY11/12, driven by better quality of
customers and minutes of usage along with stability in Average Revenue per
Minute (ARPM).

 

The company said that it invested Rs 50,000 crore and
built more than 80,000 sites since 2007. Also, the company added that it
supports a distribution chain of over 1.4 million small businesses and contributed
over INR 45,000 crores to the exchequer since 2007.
