ZTE bags IP procurement contract from China Telecom

Telecom Lead Asia: Chinese telecom equipment vendor ZTE
has bagged an IP procurement contract from China Telecom.

 

ZTE’s share of the contract is the largest of any bidding
company this time.

 

As part of the contract, ZTE will deliver its M6000
high-end router to China Telecom for use in the infrastructure project.

 

The IP procurement involves the use of several
technologies, including: broadband remote access servers, service routers,
multi-service edge, aggregation switches, and high-end routing switches.
Further, the China Telecom large-scale IP centralized purchase aims to provide
fiber optic telecommunications capabilities to over 100 million customers.

 

To date, the ZTE M6000 has been put into use in more than
110 cities in 21 provinces across China.

 

ZTE’s T8000/M6000 products have been put into commercial
use by China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom and by operators in several
countries in across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

 

ZTE wins 50% of China Telecom pilot access network project
contract

 

ZTE has won 50 percent of the contract business for China
Telecom’s 2011 Comprehensive Access Network Pilot Project.

 

The contract was issued in response to an urgent need by
China Telecom for a comprehensive bearer network in multiple Chinese cities
capable of carrying CDMA base stations and providing large customer services
and soft-switching.

 

Top 4 telecom operators sign Cisco for IP transformation

 

Four telecom operators in the Asia Pacific region have
signed up with Cisco for IP transformation. The deal reflects Cisco’s growing
presence in the telecom service provider business in the region.

 

Due to confidentiality reasons, the networking major did
not disclose the names of these operators. Cisco has a strong presence in
Indian telecom market. It works with Bharti Airtel, Tata Teleservices, etc. At
present, service provider business generates majority revenue to Cisco in the
Asia Pacific market.
