India telecom ARPU nosedives

TRAI has revealed the latest trend in ARPU (average revenue per user) of Indian telecom operators.India ARPU nosedives
TRAI said monthly Average Revenue per User (ARPU) for access services based on AGR fell from Rs 111.63 in December quarter of 2016 to Rs 89.34 in March quarter of 2017.

ARPU of GSM operators was Rs 83, while ARPU for CDMA service was Rs 131.

The India blended ARPU has declined 7.13 percent from Rs 141 to Rs 131. ARPU for prepaid service declined from Rs 68 to Rs 62. ARPU for postpaid service also declined from Rs 593 to Rs 527.
Monthly ARPU - GSM and LTE ServicesARPU for GSM service including LTE fell 20.44 percent quarter on quarter and 33.78 percent year on year to Rs 83.

Prepaid ARPU for GSM service declined from Rs 86 to Rs 67, and postpaid ARPU fell from Rs 456 to Rs 412.

ARPU for CDMA service declined 7.13 percent quarter on quarter and increased 26.84 year on year to Rs 131.

ARPU for pre-paid declined from Rs 86 to Rs 67, and ARPU for postpaid dipped from Rs 456 to Rs 412.
