India wireless users and broadband growth in Feb 2017

India wireless operator market share in February 2017The number of mobile phone or wireless subscribers in India rose 1.19 percent to 1,164.20 million in February 2017 from 1,150.45 million in January 2017, said the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

India’s wireless subscription base in urban areas increased 1.66 percent to 671.63 million in February 2017. India’s wireless subscription base in rural areas increased 0.56 percent to 492.57 million in Feb 2017.

The wireless tele-density in India increased to 90.70 in February 2017 from 89.71 in January 2017, said TRAI.
India wireless customer additions in Feb 2017The urban wireless tele-density increased from 164.29 in January 2017 to 166.77 in February 2017, while rural wireless tele-density increased from 55.64 to 55.92.

The share of urban and rural wireless subscribers in total number of wireless subscribers was 57.69 percent and 42.31 percent respectively in February 2017.

Broadband India

The number of broadband subscribers in India rose 2.98 percent from 253.75 million in January to 261.31 million in February 2017.
India broadband share in Feb 2017India has 18.18 wired broadband subscribers, 242.57 mobile Internet users and 0.57 fixed wireless broadband subscribers.

Reliance Jio Infocomm with 102.84 million, Bharti Airtel with 46.69 million, Vodafone with 32.06 million, Idea Cellular with 24.31 million and BSNL with 20.81 million subscribers are the top five broadband operators in India.

BSNL with 9.95 million, Bharti Airtel with 2.07 million, Atria Convergence Technologies with 1.14 million, MTNL with 1.03 million and YOU Broadband with 0.62 million are the top five wired broadband operators.

Wireless broadband service providers are Reliance Jio Infocomm with 102.84 million users, Bharti Airtel with 44.62 million, Vodafone with 32.05 million, Idea Cellular with 24.31 million and Reliance Communications with 14.04 million.
