Indian telecom service providers have added nearly 5 million mobile or wireless subscribers in June 2015 over May 2015, according to TRAI.

Idea Cellular added 1620151 mobile subscribers in June 2015, Bharti Airtel 1219259, Reliance Comm 1215596, Uninor 418339, Vodafone 394571, Aircel 314454 and Videocon 154451 mobile subscribers in June, according to TRAI data.

TRAI said the Indian wireless subscriber base increased 0.51 percent to 980.81 million in June 2015 from 975.78 million in May 2015. The wireless tele-density in India increased from 77.58 in May 2015 to 77.90 in June 2015.

The wireless subscription in urban areas increased 0.74 percent to 562.95 million in June 2015 from 558.83 million in May 2015. The urban wireless tele-density increased from 143.42 to 144.25, said TRAI on Tuesday. The share of urban wireless subscribers was 57.40 percent.
Mobile subscriber base net addition

Indian wireless subscription in rural areas increased 0.22 percent from 416.95 million in May 2015 to 417.85 million in June 2015. Rural wireless tele-density increased from 48.03 to 48.10 in June 2015. The share of rural wireless subscribers was 42.60 percent in June 2015, said TRAI.

The number of telephone subscribers in India increased from 100.20 crore in May 2015 to 100.69 crore in June, showing a monthly growth rate of 0.49 percent.

Urban telephone subscribers increased from 580.15 million in May to 584.21 million in June, while rural subscribers increased from 421.90 million to 422.75 million during the same period.

3.68 million subscribers submitted their requests for MNP, taking the cumulative MNP requests from 160.25 million in May to 163.93 million in June, said TRAI.
