Anritsu unveils T&M solution for multichannel Optical Modules

MP2100B

Anritsu has launched the new BERTWave MP2100B, the next in its MP2100A series of test and measurement solution for multichannel Optical Modules.

The solution is designed to address the needs arising from high capacity of data-center servers and network devices.

The market is witnessing strong demand for Optical Modules used in data-center servers and network devices, particularly for 10GbESFP+, and 40GbE QSFP+ (10Gbit/s × 4) modules, Anritsu said.

The new BERTWave MP2100B supports simultaneous BER Measurements and Eye Pattern Analyses, and a single MP2100B set can measure all the items required for evaluating Optical Modules and Optical Devices used by optical communication systems, the company claims.

While convention systems for BER Measurements and EyePattern Analyses require two measuring instruments, Anritsu claims one MP2100B supports all necessary evaluation for the same.

In effect, Anritsu’s latest product reduces equipment costs by as much as 40 percent. It also helps manufacturers cut equipment costs and shorten measurement times, thereby slashing their manufacturing costs of optical modules and optical devices..

A full-featured measurement solution for evaluating multichannel Optical Modules and Optical Devices, BERTWave MP2100B also supports faster measurement speeds required by the optical module and device manufacturing markets, a new Fast Sampling Mode with speeds up to 150 k sample/s performs Eye Pattern Analyses like the Eye Mask Test up to 1.5 times faster than legacy models.

The MP2100B built-in Bit Error Rate Tester (BERT) can be upgraded to 4ch for simultaneous BER Measurements of multichannel Optical Modules, such as QSFP+, etc., cutting measurement times by up to 80 percent compared tolegacy models, the company said.

The BERTWave MP2100B is expandable to 4ch BERT Measurements supporting efficient evaluation of multichannel Optical Modules, such as QSFP+.
