Option completes LGA module interoperability tests for NTT DOCOMO network

Option announced that it has completed the data
interoperability testing (IOT) of its GTM 601W wireless module on the mobile
broadband network of NTT DOCOMO, INC.

Option’s GTM 601W wireless module brings together
GSM/HSPA, GPS/ GLONASS and circuit-switched voice. The module is designed for a
wide variety of mobile devices including tablets, consumer electronic devices,
netbooks, routers and industrial handheld devices.

The GTM 601W is the first Option’s LGA (Landed Grid
Array) wireless module to have completed IOT on the operator’s mobile broadband
network. It is also a perfect fit for a wide range of high bandwidth M2M
applications such as digital signage, automotive, security cameras, and more.

“For Option the IOT represents another milestone in
our collaboration and further demonstrates our experience and expertise in
bringing trusted embedded solutions to market. Connectivity is already moving
into new markets and verticals beyond ‘traditional’ terminals. Network
operators need to provide connectivity, security and a seamless user experience
in a whole range of mobile devices,” said Bernard Schaballie, General Manager
of Embedded Solutions at Option.

Due to its ultra-thin form factor and excellent heat
dissipation characteristics, and with integrated GPS, voice, and optional EVDO
capabilities, the GTM 601W embedded solution is perfect for integration in
small consumer electronics devices or broadband M2M applications.
