Telecom Lead Asia: Chinese mobile equipment maker ZTE has launched
the world’s first range of 1.4GHz TD-LTE terminals, including modules, USB

ZTE
launches 3.5GHz TD-LTE distributed base station

Recently, the telecom infrastructure company launched the world’s first 3.5GHz high-power TD-LTE
distributed base station.

To date, ZTE has signed three contracts related to
deploying and upgrading 3.5GHz TD-LTE networks in Asia-Pacific and Africa. The
Chinese telecom equipment maker claims that the base station offers wide
coverage and transmission power of 80W.

On May 17 ZTE launched a large scale TD-LTE network in
Guangzhou China. This network can provide wireless data coverage to the
transportation and safety surveillance sectors, high-speed media streaming,
video conferencing and real-time news delivery at speeds up to 100mbps.

“The supported functions and improved performance of
1.4GHz TD-LTE communications provides opportunities for operators to open up
new revenue streams. As a next step, ZTE is looking to deploy this technology
in further networks around the world,” said Wang Shouchen, vice president, ZTE.

In LTE, ZTE is spreading its presence. As of Q1 2012, ZTE had concluded 30 LTE commercial contracts
and over 100 trial networks with leading operators. Eight of them have already
