5G network investment update and forecast for 2020

Several telecom operators have launched their 5G network, but their investment is yet to result into improvement in total revenue.

Recent research reports indicate that 5G business will grow as telecoms are investing in new networks.

According to Alan Hadden’s research, 63 network operators have commercially launched 5G services in 36 countries till Dec 2019.

61 operators currently use sub-6GHz bands for commercial 5G services, mostly in the 3.4-3.8 GHz range.

52 operators currently use spectrum in the 3.4-3.8 GHz range for commercial 5G services.

4 operators use mmWave bands for commercial 5G services, either exclusively or deployed in combination with lower spectrum.
