BSNL slashes broadband price

BSNL broadband usersIndia telecom operator BSNL announced unlimited broadband data for Rs 599 offering Internet at 2 Mbps speed.

The state-run BSNL is not restricting the usage of data consumption in this broadband plan. The price was Rs 1,199.

BSNL is slashing the broadband price at a time when Reliance Jio is in the process of announcing its broadband plans for Indian consumers. Airtel is also expanding its presence in broadband segment.
Jio broadband market share in April 2017Both existing and new customers can opt for the Rs 599 broadband plan of BSNL. BSNL is also offering free calls from landline phones during night hours and 24 hours free calls on Sunday as part of the new broadband plan.

BSNL said its Rs 675 plan will now offer 10 GB with 4 Mbps speed as compared with the earlier 5 GB.

BSNL’s Rs 999 plan will offer 30 GB against the earlier 20 GB with an Internet speed of 4 Mbps across the country.

The rural consumers of BSNL under the Rs 650 plan will get 15 GB from the earlier 5 GB with 2 Mbps speed.

BSNL is also offering Rs 249 plan with 5 GB data with 2 Mbps speed. Once the consumer use 5 GB data, the speed will come down to 1 Mbps.
