Ericsson CEO Hans Vestberg to deliver keynote at 2012 International CES


The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) announced that
Hans Vestberg, president and chief executive officer, Ericsson will deliver a
keynote address at the 2012 International CES.

 

Owned and produced by CEA, the 2012 International CES,
the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow, will be held January 10-13
in Las Vegas, Nevada.

 

Ericsson is a global leader in mobile broadband and
communications technologies and services and we are thrilled to welcome Hans
Vestberg to the CES keynote stage,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CEA.

 

Ericsson has grown into a market leader with its
equipment powering broadband networks for more than 1,000 service providers in
180 countries. With more than forty percent of the world’s mobile traffic
passing through Ericsson’s equipment, this dynamic company will share its
vision of our mobile broadband future,” Shapiro added.


Vestberg’s keynote is slated for 1 p.m. Wednesday,
January 11, 2012 in The Venetian. The Las Vegas Hilton Theater and The Venetian
will serve as the official 2012 CES keynote locations.

 

Since joining Ericsson
in 1991, Vestberg has been instrumental in developing the company’s vision of a
Networked society where everything that benefits from being connected, will be
connected. A new mindset is emerging where the primary concern is not about
having access; it is what you do with it.

 

Vestberg joins Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer and
Mercedes-Benz’s Dieter Zetsche as confirmed keynote speakers for the 2012 CES.
The full 2012 CES keynote lineup will be announced in the fall.

 

The 2012 CES will feature more than 2,700 global
technology companies unveiling the latest consumer technology products and
services across 15 major product categories including the latest in audio,
automotive electronics, connected home technologies, digital
imaging/photography, electronic gaming, entertainment/content and more.
