Omnitech launches REVIVE for emerging markets

Omnitech InfoSolutions, a provider of Business
Availability and Business Continuity solutions, announced the launch of ‘REVIVE’, a new initiative under its broad based cloud services that can easily
and affordably implement disaster recovery plans of EMERGING ENTERPRISES.

The new Disaster Recovery (DR) solution over cloud
computing technology offers pay-per-use billing model, thereby reducing capital
expenditure by eliminating the need of dedicated disaster recovery hardware and
software, IT staff and other operational costs.

REVIVE has the ability to take snapshots of the workload
(OS, Application and Data) and recover it through a cloud-based model. A
scheduled replication of production site workload takes place on OmniCloud in a
highly secured environment through encryption.

In the event of a disaster, companies can have your
critical business processes up-and-running by invoking COB (Continuity of
Business) request. Resources on OmniCloud such as processing power, memory and
storage, required to run your critical and predefined application load will be
made available.

Emerging Enterprises in India, on an average, spend
nearly INR 35 lakhs as an upfront technology investment for a basic captive
traditional Disaster Recovery plan. This includes recurring annual expenses
such as electricity, Infrastructure, maintenance, IT staff and other
miscellaneous expenses. Through REVIVE, EMERGING ENTERPRISES can now save up to
40 percent of the overall costs for its DR plans, which will be reflected as an
operational expense after deploying cloud technology.

Indian entrepreneurs today recognize the importance of
Disaster Recovery but are bound by financial constraints. This has been one of
the key reasons to witness low acceptance on disaster recovery plans in India,
resulting in negligence on required technology investments. Through the launch
of REVIVE, we see a lot of traction coming from EMERGING ENTERPRISES opting for
disaster recovery plans, as the new cloud-based offering will act as a cost
efficient platform to enable their DR plans and protect the interest of its
defined stakeholders spectrum without making an upfront investment on
technology,” said Avinash Pitale, joint managing director, Omnitech InfoSolutions.

The cloud-based technology service offering will
definitely boost the interest levels of EMERGING ENTERPRISES to opt for DR
solutions, as these offerings would be provided as a service on a pay-per-use
model.

The launch of REVIVE is the first initiative undertaken
by the company on a cloud platform. Moving forward, Omnitech expects to offer a
gamut of cloud services to nearly 80 percent of its existing customers in next
three years by bundling its cloud offerings with multi-years contracts signed
for its traditional technology offerings.

Omnitech is the first company in India to have
multi-location Disaster Recovery (DR) sites based in Mumbai and Hyderabad. The
company has been largely catering to LARGE and EMERGING ENTERPRISE segments
through DR and IT Managed Service offerings since last 23 years.

Omnitech today works closely with nearly 255 EMERGING
ENTERPRISES across the globe and successfully delivers its services to more
than 1080 locations in India. Besides the conduct of ISO 9001:2008 Surveillance
audit with ISO 9001:2000 certified processes for quality management, Omnitech
has also gained ISO 20000, ISO 27001 and BS 25999 standards to meet global
security standards.
