Telecom Lead India: Huawei announced up to 30 percent discount on two smart phones – Huawei Ascend- G300 and Ascend Y200.

After the 30 percent discount, Huawei Ascend G300 will be available at Rs 9,990.

Huawei is offering 22 percent discount on Ascend Y200 and it priced now at Rs 6,990.

According to IDC, Huawei is not in the top 5 list of smartphone players. Nokia is out of the top 5 smartphone vendor list. Samsung, Apple, Research In Motion, ZTE and HTC are the top 5 smartphone makers in Q3 2012.

Recently, IDC said the global mobile phone market grew 2.4 percent in third quarter of 2012 (3Q12). Phone vendors shipped 444.5 million mobile phones in 3Q12 compared to 434.1 million units in the third quarter of 2011.

These impressive specs and special fetive prices, will surely add the joy to the festive season making it a popular choice among consumers across markets,” Shanxin added.

According to a recent report in TelecomLead.com, Huawei’s consumer products division is targeting a 20 percent increase in revenue from India to $350 million in 2012. Huawei targets 40 percent of its devices income to come from the set-top boxes in 2012.

This will involve a total of 10 million shipments and a major chunk of that will come from the set top boxes used for direct-to-home TV, according to Huawei India sales director P Sanjeev.

Of the 10 million shipments, 30 percent will come from mobile broadband category, 40 percent from the set-top boxes and the remaining from mobile handsets.
