Smartphone display panel market share H1 2022Samsung Display is the leader in the smartphone display panel market with 53 percent share in H1 2022.

BOE Technology has 15 percent share in the smartphone display panel market.

Tianma Microelectronics has 8 percent share in the smartphone display panel market in H1 2022.

The top-three display panel vendors captured nearly 76 percent revenue share in the global smartphone display panel market during the first half.

The market for smartphone display panels was held back by sinking LCD panel demand while OLED adoption expanded across mid-tier smartphones to enable OEMs to drive momentum. Display vendors saw rising demand for Flexible OLED panels with high refresh rate specifications which drove OLED growth during the period.

Samsung Display is strongly positioned to benefit from customer demand enabling a strong pipeline of design wins for its OLED panels. BOE, TCL CSOT and Tianma ramped their OLED production and captured orders to supply OLED panels to leading smartphone brands in H1 2022.

“We expect momentum for OLED panels to continue and drive market growth enabled by stronger display supplier competition and increased panel yield for OLED displays. LCD panels are expected to be in oversupply leading to further price declines,” Stephen Entwistle , Vice President of the Strategic Technologies Practice at Strategy Analytics, said.
