Indian telecom operator BSNL in association with Champion today introduced its Phablet called BSNL Champion DM6513.
This is first Phablet from Champion.
The price of the new Phablet is Rs 6,999 in India. The latest device is available through online stores like Flipkart, Snapdeal, ebay, Naaptol, Tradus, Homeshop18, Indiatimes, Rediff, Amazon, Shopclues, Infibeam etc.
Yesterday market research agency IDC said a deep dive into the screen size trends highlights that there has been a growing acceptance for tablets with screen size of 8 < 9 inch in India.
“The popularity of Phablets has in fact crossed over the demand for 7 inch tablets. For a price conscious market like India, it is about owning a combination device, meeting the needs with one device instead of two. Also, the return rates on low cost 7 inch tablets have been unexplainably large. First time users latching onto such devices are now looking to move to products that offer better experience in terms of life span and quality,” said Karan Thakkar, senior market analyst with IDC.

Main features of BSNL Champion DM6513 Phablet include Android 4.2.2 Jellybean, Dual Core processor, 16.51cm (6.5-inch) Capacitive Touch Screen, 3G SIM WCDMA 2100, 2MP front and 5 MP rear camera, Wi-Fi, expandable up to 32GB memory, G- Sensor, FM with Recording and 3500mAh battery for talk time up to 4 hours and standby time 62 hours.
Kapil Wadhwa, MD, Champion Computers, said: “Our BSNL DM6513 is a 6.5” phablet which is suitable for both work and play. After introducing Feature Phones and Smartphones, we were certain to penetrate in the Phablet market.”
