Telecom service provider BSNL and Pantel Technologies announced the launch of “Bharat Phone” PF300, for a price of Rs 1,799. It is designed to deliver the power of Internet in the hands of the common man.
BSNL also announced Penta Smart models – PS501 and PS650 and the next generation Penta T-Pad WS707C.
Bharat Phone PF300 is the first sub-Rs 2,000 phone in India that offers Internet access. The phone comes pre-bundled with 1,200 minutes of Voice Plan from BSNL. Users get 100 minutes of talk-time free every month for 12 months.
With its 3-inch screen and Java operating system, Bharat Phone supports common Internet applications including email, social networking, search, and more. The feature phone is ideal for applications like mobile banking, tele-medical care delivery and streaming data delivery. It also works well as a voice phone.
Penta Smart devices are pre-loaded with anti-malware software from TrustPort. The devices have been designed around common users for gaming, music, movie, sports and other types of entertainment. The company claims that the battery has standby time of 15 days and talk time of 8 hours.

PentaSmart PS650
PentaSmart PS650 is offered for a MRP of Rs. 7,999. With a large 6.5” screen size, PentaSmart PS650 is the first such device in India below Rs. 10,000. The device comes loaded with Bluetooth, Hot-Spot, GPS, HD-Video and Video Calling facility.
The smartphone is powered by Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with features like gesture typing; speech to text, quick navigation screen, voice based search and Google NOW: All-in-One App. It comes with 3GB of 3G Data and 300 minutes of talk time FREE on the BSNL network.
