Tablet market

LG does not feature in top 3 tablet maker list.

WitsView, a research division of TrendForce, says global tablet shipments to grow 5 percent to 205.5 million in 2014.

WitsView Research Manager Eric Chiou said that though Apple will release new models in H2 2014, the impact will be limited.

Apple iPad may experience its first decline since entering the market in 2010, with volume expected to drop from 74.3 million in 2013 to 68.4 million in 2014, mainly because Apple is unlikely to hold any major promotional or sales events.

Growth of second largest tablet vendor Samsung will experience poor performance in both entry- and high-end markets. GalaxyTabPro has seen fewer-than-expected sales due to high costs. Tablets with similar specifications to GalaxyTabLite from other tablet vendors are also impacting its growth. Samsung will grow 14 percent to 48 million in 2014.
