Ericsson 5G pilot project to improve productivity of Swedish mining

Telecom network vendor Ericsson today said it will start a 5G pilot project — to improve productivity and safety of the Swedish mining industry.

Ericsson, in the initial phase of the project, will utilize a 5G development system consisting of new and existing technologies to remotely control a Volvo truck used for transporting ore in a mine operated by Boliden.

This is in line with Ericsson’s vision of a Networked Society in which everything that can benefit from being connected, will be.”
