Mihir Maniar, vice president, security product management at Juniper Networks, was instrumental in bagging the contract from Exaring.

Exaring selected Juniper Networks QFX Series switching technology to deliver automated television services, including HD and 4K (ultra HD) video, via customers’ existing internet connections without additional installations.

Exaring runs its functions in a cloud environment created by Juniper’s QFX switching platform that feature open architectures to serve as building blocks for automated, programmable fabric architectures. This environment supports applications that move hundreds of gigabits of video.

Exaring deployed the Juniper Networks’ QFX10000 at its data center edge, which has IPv4 and IPv6 peering functionality and low latency transport, together with Juniper’s ASIC functionality, such as Virtual output Queueing (VoQ) technology.

The switch network infrastructure is supported by Junos OS, Juniper’s single operating system for centralized management to streamline and simplify Exaring’s network operations. The automation capabilities of Junos OS, running on QFX Series switches, integrates into Exaring’s orchestration and automation infrastructure.

“Consumers are looking for a digital and affordable option for their TV entertainment. In order to meet these needs, we adopted high-quality automation technology with Juniper Networks for a glitch-free broadcast environment at scale,” said Tim Kleefass, head of network at Exaring.

Juniper Networks said its technology will support Exaring to integrate and deploy services in short time, achieving lower total cost of ownership (TCO) and meeting consumers’ demands for its IPTV service. The automated platform also allows the company to monitor and dynamically adjust its network performance in real-time, based on data intelligence and analysis.
