TelVue adds new capability to TelVue Connect Broadcast Content Management System

Telecom Lead Europe: TelVue Corporation has launched new
metadata for TelVue Connect Broadcast Content Management System that helps
Cable and Telco operators to broaden the range of their content by aggregating
programming via the Internet for video-on-demand (VOD) services.

With this metadata, the TelVue Connect Broadcast Content
Management System extends support for CableLabs Asset Distribution Interface
(ADI) standard.

The company said that this metadata can be captured and
passed to the operator’s VOD system to populate the on-demand program guide.

The new capability converts the submitted programming to
the format required by Cable/Telco VOD services, supporting both traditional
and IP-based systems.

“We heard from operators that they want access to
new local content that the community likes, and we heard from both producers
and operators that it really should be a lot easier to get programming from the
community to the most important programming outlets in the home. We think both
sides now have what they needed,” said Jesse Lerman, President and CEO of
TelVue.

The metadata feature allows Cable and Telco operators to
easily aggregate content from multiple contributors for their on-demand
offerings.

In addition, the metadata provides contributors
with a browser-based drag-and-drop solution for program submission from
anywhere.

The company claims that its TelVue Connect saves video
operators time and money aggregating new locally relevant and sought-after
content including sports, classifieds, and community media, that have proven
useful in attracting and retaining subscribers and generating revenue.
