Verizon Communications today appointed Diego Scotti as its chief marketing officer.
Scotti, who will join the company on 6 October, will lead marketing efforts for Verizon’s wireless and wireline business units.
The new CMO will look after Verizon’s brand management including advertising, consumer insights, digital marketing, creative development, marketing effectiveness, media and sponsorships, social responsibility, and employee communications.
Verizon Wireless, which has 104.6 million retail connections nationwide, competes with telecom majors such as AT&T, T-Mobile US and Sprint in the American wireless market.
Scotti most recently served as the CMO at J.Crew. Prior to J.Crew he oversaw marketing for several print and digital media brands at Conde Nast and was previously the head of global advertising and brand management at American Express.
