Research agency IDC has revealed the market share of Ethernet switch vendors during 2018.

Cisco, Huawei, Arista and HPE are the leading Ethernet switch suppliers in the fourth quarter of 2018, according to IDC.

The Ethernet switch market achieved revenue of $7.8 billion (+12.7 percent) in the fourth quarter and $28.1 billion (+9.1 percent) in 2018.

Enterprise and service provider router market revenue was $4.6 billion (+15.6 percent) in Q4 and $15.5 billion (+1.8 percent) in 2018.

Cisco has combined service provider and enterprise router revenue share of 38.8 percent in 2018.

Cisco’s combined service provider and enterprise router revenue increased 17.9 percent in Q4, but was off 2.7 percent for the full year, giving the company 38.8 percent share in 2018.

Huawei Technologies has 28.7 percent share in the global enterprise and service provider router in 2018.

Huawei’s enterprise and service provider router revenue increased 35.1 percent in 4Q18 and rose 22.5 percent for the full year.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) revenues rose 20.2 percent in 4Q18 and 16.5 percent in 2018. HPE increased its router market share to 6.1 percent in 2018 compared to 5.7 percent for 2017.

Juniper has 14.7 percent market share in the service provider routing market in 2018, down from 18 percent in 2017. Juniper’s router revenues declined 12.7 percent.
