Huawei leads VoIP and IMS revenue market in Q2 2015: IHS

VoIP and IMS market share in Q2 2015

Huawei is leading in overall telecom service provider VoIP and IMS revenue market share in Q2 2015, said IHS.

Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, GENBAND and Mavenir, a division of Mitel, are the other top TSP VoIP vendors in addition to Huawei.

The sales of carrier VoIP and IMS equipment will increase in double digits in 2015. Telecom service provider VoIP and IMS revenue increased 46 percent year-over-year to $1.3 billion in Q2 2015. The telecom analysis report said that mobile operators are ramping for VoLTE and VoWiFi and Chinese operators starting VoLTE-related spending.

Today, Huawei said it supported China Mobile for its VoLTE launch.

“Spending related to VoLTE deployments is starting to pick up, especially in Europe and India, fueling continued strong growth in the service provider VoIP and IMS market,” said Diane Myers, research director for VoIP, UC and IMS at IHS.

Telecom operators with VoLTE networks in North America and Asia Pacific are purchasing additional capacity as subscriber numbers grow in those regions.

All product segments including legacy softswitches and trunk media gateways posted year-over-year revenue growth, with SBCs (session border controllers) particularly strong.

Sales of VoIP in North America, EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin America grew from the year-ago quarter, said IHS.
