Ixia today – at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2016) – announced the launch of Vision ONE to enhance network security.
The turn-key device from Ixia collects, processes, and filters data and application flow to security and monitoring analytics to increase network protection.
Zeus Kerravala, principal analyst at ZK Research, said: “A network visibility solution creates the foundation for understanding exactly what is happening in an enterprise network, especially when dealing with the myriad of security tools needed for application and data protection.”
Ixia’s Vision ONE provides inline connectivity for security tools such as intrusion prevention systems (IPS), data loss prevention (DLP), and firewalls. The features in Vision ONE enable users to access encrypted traffic using SSL decryption, reduce analysis traffic using advanced packet processing, and precisely select traffic by application type, geography, and device criteria using deep packet inspection (DPI).
The rise of applications supporting Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is expected to account for nearly two thirds of Internet traffic by 2016, exposing enterprises to new vulnerabilities they need to uncover to remain secure.
Vision ONE’s SSL decryption feature extends a security teams’ ability to look into encrypted traffic revealing anomalies and intrusions through Ixia’s Application and Threat Intelligence Program (ATIP).

In addition, the new 10GbE version of ThreatARMOR is now available offering line-rate blocking of known-bad sites and unwanted countries, as well as integrated fail-to-wire capability for maximum performance and availability.

Meanwhile, Ixia, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and Anritsu demonstrate customer experience assurance (CEA) capabilities on the HPE OpenNFV Platform at Mobile World Congress 2016 (MWC).
As carriers move to Network Function Virtualization (NFV), they need to effectively deploy new CEA solutions. The virtualized, integrated solution demonstrated by Ixia, HPE and Anritsu enables carriers to rapidly adopt NFV, and conform to service level agreements (SLAs).
The demonstration at MWC is built on HPE’s OpenNFV architecture using Ixia’s IxLoad to emulate a real-world mobile network. Monitoring of the OpenNFV environment is accomplished with Ixia’s Phantom Virtualization Tap and its virtual GTP Session Controller, as well as Anritsu’s MasterClaw platform.
