NTT Communications will supply IP Transit services to Liquid Telecom to support the demand for bandwidth in the African Market.
Simon Waller, head of Global IP Network Sales in EMEA for NTT Com, said: “Liquid Telecom provides Internet access to ISPs and content providers throughout the African continent and therefore have extremely high expectations for service quality.”
Africa’s international bandwidth demand is projected to grow at a compound annual rate of 51 percent between 2012 and 2019 against 37 percent each annually for Latin America and the Middle East.
Andrew Alston, head of IP Strategy at Liquid Telecom, said: “Demand for IP capacity on our pan-African fiber network continues to grow above and beyond global forecasts for Africa.”
Liquid Telecom, which has 17,000 km fiber network from the north of Uganda to Cape Town, offers data, voice and IP provider in eastern, central and southern Africa. It supplies fiber optic, satellite and international carrier services to Africa’s largest mobile network operators, ISPs, financial institutions and businesses.
