Lead Bangladesh: Access Telecom, a broadband service provider in Bangladesh, has
selected NewNet Communication Technologies’ WiMAX solution as core wireless
technology for migrating to WiMAX technology from pre-WiMAX.
Access Telecom plans to roll out high performance broadband to
businesses and residents throughout Bangladesh. The expansion plans will
upgrade existing equipment and include new WiMAX deployments.
Access Telecom delivers a host of Internet and Data services over
its nationwide broadband network. Access Telecom’s infrastructure is the
foundation behind service offerings such as Private Corporate Network’s
(Intranet), managed services and multicasting.
“Our rollout plans are designed to bring a high level of broadband
connectivity to our customers in a very short time. NewNet will help us meet
these standards and time commitments and enable us to bring broadband to every
corner of the country,” said Zain Omar, CEO of Access Telecom.
WiMAX products of NewNet include access points, access service
network gateways, CPE devices, network management solutions, and connectivity
service network elements.
Moreover, NewNet offers its WiMAX customers a range of services to
ensure rapid and cost effective deployment and commissioning of the network.
NewNet claims that its WiMAX offering is a versatile,
multi-service platform that delivers the power of WiMAX technology together
with the flexibility needed to serve the specific market requirements that
customers have.

the former Motorola Solutions WiMAX business from Nokia Siemens Networks.
NewNet will be adding research and development facilities in the
U.K. and expanding its R&D teams in the U.S. and India. Approximately 175
employees across the globe are transferring to NewNet in this initial closing.
