Reliance Jio ARPU, revenue, profit in Q2 fiscal 2018-19

Reliance Jio has posted revenue of Rs 9,240 crore, registering 13.9 percent quarter on quarter growth in Q2 fiscal 2018-19.

Mukesh Ambani-promoted Reliance Jio made Rs 681 crore net profit. Its subscriber base reached 252.3 million as on 30 September 2018.

Reliance Jio said it achieved the lowest churn in the Indian telecom industry at 0.66 percent per month despite low cost offers from competition. ARPU of Reliance Jio during the second quarter was Rs 131.7 or less than $2 per subscriber per month.

Total wireless data traffic during the quarter was 771 crore GB. Total voice traffic during the quarter was 53,379 crore minutes.

Jio has accelerated its pace of subscriber additions further with net addition during the quarter of 37 million as against 28.7 million in the previous quarter, the highest in any quarter since the launch of commercial services.

JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offer by Reliance Retail with exchange policy and lower upfront commitment has accelerated customer uptake.

Gross addition of 41.7 million and churn of 4.7 million imply the lowest industry churn rate at 0.66 percent per month.

Average data consumption per user per month was 11 GB. Average voice consumption was 761 minutes per user per month. Video consumption increased to 410 crore hours per month on the network. Average video consumption was 17.5 hours per subscriber per month.

“Our next generation FTTH and enterprise services are now being made available to our customers to further enhance our value proposition to our customers,” Mukesh D Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, said.
