Foxit unveils mobile reader for Android mobile device makers

Foxit, a provider of solutions for reading, editing,
creating, organizing, and securing PDF documents, announced the launch of the
company’s Foxit Mobile Reader for the Android platform.

This release of the Foxit Mobile Reader is geared to
Android original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), enabling them to bundle an
industry-standard PDF technology into their mobile hardware devices.

With Foxit Mobile Reader, Android device manufacturers
can augment the suite of robust applications they already offer by bundling a
PDF reader specifically built for high-quality, high-performance rendering,
maximum document fidelity, and speed; similar Android applications come at a
cost to end users.

Foxit Mobile Reader’s features include innovative annotation tool that allows
users to add signatures or notes to their PDF documents using their fingertips.

Advanced display and reflow
capabilities allow for automatic rearrangement of content to permit PDFs
designed for a full-sized sheet of paper to be easily read on devices with
small screens.

Advanced document page management enables
users to add, edit and delete bookmarks in their documents.

“Our PDF technology gives OEMs a competitive edge in
an intensely competitive market flooded with applications that don’t measure
up,” said Frank Kettenstock, VP of marketing for Foxit.

“By pre-installing Foxit’s Mobile Reader on their
Android devices, OEMs can deliver the same PDF technology that has already been
adopted by 100 million consumers and business users around the world,” Kettenstock
added.
