Tablets to amplify revenues of mobile adult video: Juniper Research

Telecom Lead Europe: Revenues of mobile adult video
generated on tablets are set to increase by more than five times by 2017,
according to Juniper Research.

Penetration of internet usage and  adoption of
tablets will augment the number of users of mobile adult video content or
pornography on tablets. The growth in the tablet user base will cause the
number of users of mobile adult video content on tablets to triple by 2015.

Juniper Research notes that the trend is repeated across
all forms of mobile adult content on tablets with the number mobile adult
subscribers and mobile adult videochat users also tripling by 2015.

The study predicts that average annual spend on mobile
adult subscriptions for handsets will increase by 11 percent by 2015.

As per the findings, tablet owners are more prosperous
than the average user, and are more likely own a credit card than smartphone
users even in emerging markets. Thereby, a tablet user is likely to spend more
and more often on mobile adult content than the average smartphone user.

“Tablets combine the privacy of a smartphone with a
large screen, particularly suited for content consumption. It is clear that, as
with many other types of content, users of mobile adult content will want to
access content on their tablets as well as on smartphones and PCs,” said
Charlotte Miller, report author.

The market research firm says legislation and social
attitudes towards adult content in some regions will also restrain the growth
of the mobile adult industry. Also, tablets being shared devices will also
restrict growth.
