Quectel Wireless Solutions announced it is offering a range of 5G modules and antennas in support of the 5G launch in India.
5G radio EricssonReliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, two leading telecoms, will be launching 5G services in 13 cities including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune.

“The arrival of 5G will bring dramatic changes to India,” says Michael Wallon, Vice President of APAC at Quectel. “We see applications in direct-to-home services, medical services, entertainment, the automotive sector and several industries that will achieve clear gains for transferring huge volumes of data with lower latencies.”

The Quectel portfolio of 5G modules available to support the Indian market includes the RM510Q-GL, the RM50xQ and the RG50xQ – all based on Qualcomm’s chipsets. These modules support standalone and non-standalone 5G, offering 3G and 4G fallback with optional integrated SIM (iSIM) capability. In addition, a multi-constellation GNSS receiver is available.

The RM510Q-GL is a sub-6GHz and mmWave M.2 5G IoT module measuring 52.0mm × 30.0mm × 2.3mm which meets the 3GPP Release 15 specification and is optimized for IoT and extended mobile broadband (eMBB) applications. The module offers maximum downlink speed of 4.5Gbps and 2.9Gbps uplink and operates in an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.

The RM50xQ is a series of 5G sub-6GHz M.2 modules which also measure 52.0mm × 30.0mm × 2.3mm. These modules are optimized for industrial and commercial IoT and eMBB applications and have maximum downlink speed of 2.5Gbps and 900Mbps uplink.

The RG50xQ is a series of sub-6GHz LGA 5G IoT modules measuring 41.0mm × 44.0mm × 2.75mm which meets the 3GPP Release 15 specification and is optimized for industrial and commercial IoT applications. These modules offer maximum downlink speed of 2.5Gbps and 900Mbps uplink and can operate in the extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.

Quectel also offers 5G antennas for the Indian 5G market. This includes the YM0003AA 5G Antenna Cable, the YF0017BA 5G high-band FPC Antenna, the YE0007AA 5G Terminal Mount Antenna and the YF0020AA 5G Ultra-Wide-Band FPC Antenna.

Quectel is exhibiting at Electronica and Productronica India on 21-23 September 2022.
