Airtel appoints Nakul Sehgal ahead of fund raising

Telecom operator Airtel announced the appointment of Nakul Sehgal as corporate chief financial officer.

Nakul Sehgal, who is joining Airtel from Telenor Group, will report to Sunil Bharti Mittal, chairman of Bharti Airtel.

Airtel said Nakul Sehgal will be the interface between the corporate office and operations, will lead the investor relations, group taxation functions, monitor investments across geographies.

Nakul Sehgal will work with both Airtel India and Airtel Africa to ensure deliverables by group finance shared services functions to both regions. He will also be actively involved with Airtel Africa IPO and the $4.5 billion fund raising at Airtel India.

Nakul Sehgal has over 17 years of experience having worked in three continents. He held key positions within the financial and commercial areas of international business operations in emerging and advanced markets.

Nakul Sehgal’s last assignment was with the Telenor Group, where he worked for eight years in senior level positions across geographies including India. In his last role he was the CFO at Digi.com (Malaysia). Prior to joining Telenor Group, Nakul also worked with Ernst & Young and PWC.
