TRAI data reveals market share of Jio and Airtel in July 2017

Jio and Airtel share in July 2017TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) has revealed the market share of Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel in July 2017.

Top five wired broadband service providers are BSNL with 9.66 million, Bharti Airtel with 2.1 million, Atria Convergence Technologies with 1.23 million, MTNL with 0.97 million and YOU Broadband with 0.66 million.
Broadband market share of Jio and AirtelTop five wireless broadband service providers are Reliance Jio Infocomm with 128.58 million, Bharti Airtel with 56.80 million, Vodafone India with 42.49 million, Idea Cellular with 27.7 million and Reliance Communications with 12.75 million subscribers.

TRAI said the number of wireless subscribers declined from 1,186.84 million in June 2017 to 1,186.79 million in July 2017, registering a drop of 0.004 percent.

India has 682.69 million (+0.30 percent) mobile phone users in urban areas in July 2017. Wireless users in rural areas declined to 504.10 million (–0.41 percent) from 506.18 million.

Wireless tele-density in India declined from 92.12 in June 2017 to 92.03 in July 2017. Urban wireless tele-density increased from 167.97 in June 2017 to 168.21 in July 2017. Rural wireless tele-density declined from 57.31 to 57.04.

The share of urban and rural wireless subscribers in total number of wireless subscribers was 57.52 percent and 42.48 percent respectively in July 2017.

The number of broadband subscribers increased from 300.84 million including 18.14 million wired and 292.22 million wireless users, in June 2017 to 310.87 million in July 2017 with a monthly growth rate of 3.33 percent.
